Become an International Student Ambassador

Ambassadors are volunteers who work together to plan events that engage the diverse groups of SBCC, reaching out to new and continuing international students, campus organizations, and to the Santa Barbara community. In the last year, Ambassadors planned volleyball tournaments, holiday luncheons, fundraisers, BBQs and volunteered in the SB community with Habitat for Humanity, CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates), SB Parks and Recreation, the Fonkoze Foundation and the United Way!

Volunteer in the Santa Barbara Community

Non-profit organizations in Santa Barbara are always seeking volunteers to help them with special events as well as long-term projects.

F-1 visa international students at SBCC are permitted to volunteer at non-profit organizations, and the experience can be a valuable addition to any student resume. Volunteering also provides students with experience in a potential career field and can enhance the academic experience at SBCC. It's also a great way to meet new people, and give back to the Santa Barbara community!

Start your search for a volunteer opportunity at the Career Center website looking through the Job Connection for internships. There are also helpful tips for creating a resume and interviewing for positions.

Expand your search at VolunteerMatchSB.org for a list of non-profit agencies in Santa Barbara that are posting specific volunteer positions.
