While studying at SBCC, all international students must purchase the health insurance plan that is approved by SBCC.

The following vaccinations are generally recommended for adults: Influenza; Tetanus, Diphteria, Pertussis (Td/TDAP); Varicella; Human Papillomavirus; Zoster; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Pneumococcal (Polysaccharide); Meningococcal; Hepatitis A & B.

Please consult with your physician or check the Center for Disease Control website at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/ for immunization recommendations and obtain all recommended vaccinations before you depart for the US since vaccinations are generally not covered by your US insurance policy.

Mandatory Health Insurance

All students will be required to purchase the accident & sickness health insurance plan approved by SBCC at the time of course registration. No other insurance will be accepted as a substitute although students may elect to purchase insurance from their home country, in addition to the school's mandated plan.
Although there is a Student Health Center on campus, adequate insurance coverage is necessary in case major medical needs occur during your studies at SBCC. Further information on medical insurance is available through our office or online.
