Purpose:

Assistive technology and tutorial lab

Tutors offer individualized strategies instruction to support you in your SBCC classes. You will learn effective study methods for reading, writing, calculating, problem solving, note- taking, studying, test preparation, and staying organized. Please bring your assignments with you.

Open lab hours for strategies tutoring:
Monday 8am - 4pm
Tuesday 8am - 4pm
Wednesday 8am - 4pm
Thursday 8:30am - 4pm
Friday 8am - 1pm

The following adaptive equipment and software is available:

Kurzweil 3000
(text to voice software for learning disabilities)
Dragon Naturally Speaking (speech recognition)
Jaws (screen reader for Windows)
ZoomText Xtra (screen magnification for Windows) Desktop video magnifier (CCTV) for the visually impairedAlternative keyboards and adjustable tables
