International Student Scholarship Opportunities

The International Office and the Transfer Center compiled a list of off-campus scholarships that may be available to supplement international student funding needs. Review the list of scholarships, and visit the websites listed in the descriptions for more information about deadlines and application processes.

The U.S. government's Department of State provides information about scholarship opportunities on their Education USA website which is updated regularly.

International Financial Aid and College Scholarship Search provides listings of scholarships and loan opportunities for international students in the United States as well as American students studying internationally.

Every year Envisage International Corporation sponsors a study abroad video contest. American and international students are eligible to enter. The grand prize is $4000! For details visit 2015 Travel Video Contest.


International Student Scholarship Opportunities
SBCC

SBCC Scholarships

International students who are currently studying at SBCC are eligible to apply for some of the scholarships administered by the Foundation for SBCC, the unit of the College which raises and manages private scholarship funds for SBCC students.

The application period takes place annually in February-early March. A descriptive list of scholarships, eligibility criteria for each, and the application deadline are published in the beginning of spring semester each year. Check the Financial Aid Office website under "Services" in Pipeline in late January or early February.

University of Oregon - Multiple scholarships with varying deadlines

The Office of International Affairs, University of Oregon awards over one million dollars in scholarships to UO international students each year. Tuition, cash and work-study awards are available. Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.

International Cultural Service Program (ICSP): ~10 - 20 renewable tuition scholarships ranging from $9,000 - $27,000 are awarded each year. (Cultural service requirement for recipients.)

International Dean’s Excellence Award (IDEA): Partial tuition scholarships based on academic merit ranging from $6,000 - $8,000. (Awarded to new students only based on GPA. No application necessary. Awards are renewable.)

International Affairs Endowed Scholarships: ~20 cash scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $10,000. (Some scholarships are country-specific.)

International Student Work-Study Program: ~80 - 100 work-study awards ranging from $500 -
$6,000. (On-campus employment is required.)

Leo S. Rowe Fund

The Rowe Fund is an educational loan program of the Organization of American States (OAS) that helps citizens from Latin America and Caribbean OAS Member States finance their studies or research in accredited universities across the United States by awarding interest-free loans of up to $15,000 dollars.
